ED MONTI - BURNING MAN

behold the spectacle: man pulverizes granite with flame. thousands of years of erosion in minutes.

this is a fountain owned by the mbta and located in east boston that was created by ed monti roughly 30/40? yrs ago. almost a year back, the mbta contacted ed for aide and consul on the relocation of his fountain due to rail and station improvements which warranted some deal of construction which it nearly always does here in the baystate. ed oversaw the movement of his monstrous and many tiered piece and was then responsible for re-stacking this puzzle in it's new locale. ryan worked alongside his grandfather as the sculptors' assistant and diplomatic liason between the 82 yr old man who's been doing this forever and the union who took one look at this "thunderstick" and ran for the hills or the safety of the nearest Dunkin counter.
